There aren't many rules, but I'd advise that new members have a quick read of this post before creating new threads or posting in other people's.
With all of that said, we look forward to reading your work and hope you enjoying sharing your talent with the forum. We hope that you benefit from the experience, whatever your level of skill, and that you are able to develop and improve thanks to the feedback and constructive criticism from fellow members.
- Please feel free to express your deepest thoughts and share your inspiration and creativity. Freestyles are welcomed and encouraged.
- While you're waiting for your work to be viewed and critiqued, please take the time to view and comment on other work on the board. If you want love, you gotta show love! Please make sure you give real feedback. If you need clarification on something a member has said or implied, then just ask them what they meant. Just as you give feedback, expect it in return. It might not all be positive and you might not agree with it all but, don't be disheartened it. You can always take something from any criticism. If it's downright mean and unnecessary, we'll get rid of it!
- On that subject, we encourage honest feedback and constructive criticism but play nice! We appreciate that the internet affords writers a degree of anonymity, but there's nothing funny about just being harsh, so if a post isn't to your particular taste, try to leave some useful feedback or pointers for the author, rather than just demean it. If you're unfairly nasty we'll just delete the post, and repeat offenders will have their accounts banned.
- If you have an idea you would like to see happen with these boards, feel free to post! This is an open forum and we welcome all ideas!
- PLAGARISM: Is heavily frowned upon - if you are found to have plagarised, your post will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned. I'll admit that I plagarised a large proportion of these rules from OkayPlayer's Message Boards, but they were pretty definitive, and I'm at least referencing it here in my footnotes!
- And, saving the best for last, the admins will be constantly reading the board, looking for the best work to showcase on the blog. We'll have our eyes out for the best writers to feature on the homepage and might even commission pieces from writers that we really like!
With all of that said, we look forward to reading your work and hope you enjoying sharing your talent with the forum. We hope that you benefit from the experience, whatever your level of skill, and that you are able to develop and improve thanks to the feedback and constructive criticism from fellow members.
